About
A daily stock-picking strategy that buys the 5 most volatile names from a shortlist of 10 mega-cap U.S. companies, equally weighted, betting recent chaos may lead to a bounce.
Each day, the strategy looks at 10 famous large U.S. companies and asks: which 5 have been the most jumpy over the last 20 trading days?
“Jumpy” is measured by how widely a stock’s daily moves have bounced around. The strategy then buys those 5 and gives each the same weight. In plain English: it deliberately leans into the market’s recent “messiest” mega-cap stocks, hoping those shaken-up names rebound.
Outperform the S&P with higher upside: out-of-sample annualized return ~33.7% vs ~22.5% for SPY, and Calmar ~1.67. Daily rebalanced to 5 volatile mega-caps, equally weighted, aiming for mean-reversion—note higher drawdowns are possible.
