This strategy uses emerging-market stocks (VWO) as a global “mood gauge.” If VWO’s recent 1-year trend is stronger than its plain 1-year trend, it goes into attack mode and usually buys TQQQ, a very aggressive tech fund. If not, it gets more defensive, shifting among U.S. stocks, long-term Treasury bonds, and volatility funds based on whether markets look overheated or fearful.
