About

A simple monthly momentum rotation: from a set of US stock, bond, and gold ETFs, it buys the four with the best last‑month performance, 25% each. Includes a 3x tech fund (TQQQ), which can boost returns but also greatly increases risk.
NutHow it works
Each month it looks at the last ~20 trading days of performance for 11 ETFs and buys the four that gained the most, 25% each. Next month it repeats. If stocks are weak, it can shift into bonds (AGG) or gold (GLD). Universe: QQQ/QQQE/TQQQ = Nasdaq (tech‑heavy; TQQQ is 3x, very risky); SPY/SPYM/IYY/IWF = broad US stocks; IJH = mid‑caps; COWZ = value/cash‑flow; AGG = core bonds; GLD = gold. Trades monthly; taxes/costs matter.
CheckmarkValue prop
Momentum-based rotations across stocks, bonds, and gold aim to diversify and exploit regime shifts. Out-of-sample data show negative annualized return (~-24%), larger drawdowns (~10%), and worse risk-adjusted performance vs the S&P 500—use as a small tactical sleeve.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
