About

Monthly momentum rotation: from a list of US stock, bond, and gold ETFs, buy the 4 with the best last‑month return, split equally. Often tilts to big tech/growth when they lead; can rotate to bonds/gold in selloffs.
NutHow it works
Each month, it looks at the last ~20 trading days of returns for a set of ETFs, ranks them, and buys the top 4 in equal weights (about 25% each). Universe: QQQ/QQQE/TQQQ (Nasdaq‑100, tech‑heavy; TQQQ is 3x leveraged), SPY/SPYM & IYY (broad US stocks), IWF (large‑cap growth), IJH (mid‑caps), COWZ (high cash‑flow stocks), AGG (bonds), GLD (gold).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers higher risk-adjusted upside: ~27% annualized return vs ~10% for the S&P 500, Sharpe ~1.40 vs ~0.89, and Calmar ~2.68, using monthly momentum across ETFs with defensive sleeves.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
