About

A simple monthly “go with the winner” plan: pick the top performer among US stocks (SPY), big US tech (QQQ), or international stocks (ACWX) only if they’ve risen over the last year; otherwise hold US bonds (AGG). 100% in one fund at a time.
NutHow it works
Each month it looks back 12 months at three stock funds: SPDR S&P 500 (US stocks), Invesco QQQ (big US tech/growth), and iShares ACWI ex‑US (stocks outside the US). If at least one made money over that period, it buys the single best performer. If all three lost money, it moves to iShares Core US Aggregate Bond (broad US bonds). 100% goes into that one pick until next month.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample return 23.43% vs SPY 22.17%; Calmar ~1.23. Momentum rotation among SPY/QQQ/ACWX with AGG fallback—higher upside with risk/drawdown similar to the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
