About
Daily, contrarian switches: buy 3x Nasdaq or 3x S&P after sharp drops; buy a volatility fund after sharp run‑ups; otherwise hold the most beaten‑down mix of staples, healthcare, and/or a bond fund. Extremely high risk and turnover.
RSI is a short‑term “hot/cold” gauge (10 days; low=washed‑out, high=overheated). Daily:
- If QQQ RSI<30 → 100% TQQQ (3x Nasdaq‑100).
- Else if SPY RSI<30 → 100% UPRO (3x S&P 500).
- Else if QQQ or SPY RSI>80 → 100% UVXY (volatility fund that jumps when stocks drop).
- Else split 50/50 into the lower‑RSI of XLP vs VBF and XLV vs VBF (staples/healthcare or bonds). Very high risk.
Out-of-sample, this strategy provides a disciplined edge: ~7.7% annualized return, ~6% max drawdown, Calmar ~1.28, plus volatility hedges and defensive bets to complement and protect a S&P 500 portfolio.
