About
A market-timing strategy that switches among the S&P 500, Nasdaq/tech, consumer staples, and even Monster Beverage depending on whether the market looks healthy, overheated, or sharply oversold.
This strategy first asks: “Is the U.S. stock market generally healthy?” It does that by comparing SPY’s very recent price trend with its long-term trend.
If the answer is yes, it usually splits money between SPY and QQQ. But if the market looks unusually strong or overheated, it moves everything into Monster Beverage (MNST).
If the answer is no, it usually hides in consumer-staples stocks (XLP). But if tech has just fallen very hard, it buys the tech sector (XLK) for a rebound.
Out-of-sample, this strategy aims ~27.6% annualized return with ~12.8% max drawdown vs SPY’s ~20.2% return and ~18.8% drawdown. Superior risk-adjusted profile (Calmar ~2.16, Sharpe ~1.32) and lower beta = more upside with less risk than the S&P 500.
