A dividend-and-income strategy with a tactical overlay: most of the time it mixes dividend funds with opportunistic buys in beaten-down growth areas, but during high market fear it becomes much more defensive.
NutHow it works
This strategy has two modes. Normal mode: it puts 30% in dividend-focused funds (SCHD, DGRO) plus DBMF, a trend-following fund. The other 70% goes into 3 tactical ‘pop’ sleeves. Each sleeve buys a beaten-down leveraged stock fund (SPXL, TQQQ, or SOXL) when recent selling looks extreme; otherwise it sits in CII, an income-focused stock fund. In two sleeves, if markets look too overheated, it can switch to UVXY, a volatility spike fund. Panic mode: when market fear is very high, it shifts to a more defensive version of those tactical sleeves, using BIL (short-term Treasury bills) instead of CII when no trade is active.
