About

A rule-based dip-buyer in tech, semis, biotech, and financials using 3x ETFs. It buys sharp 5‑day selloffs, shifts to GLD/UUP/TMF/UVXY when stress rises, adds a UVXY hedge when markets look overbought, and otherwise runs a risk‑parity core.
NutHow it works
First check if the market is in an uptrend (SPY above its 200‑day average). Then it hunts for quick “dips” in big indexes/sectors: if QQQ, SOXX, XBI, or XLF drop ~4–5% in 5 days, it buys their 3x bull funds (TQQQ, SOXL, LABU, FAS). If losses snowball, it shifts to a defensive mix of gold (GLD), the dollar (UUP), long Treasuries (TMF) and volatility (UVXY), sized by recent risk. RSI (a 0–100 ‘speedometer’ of buying) >~80 triggers a short UVXY hedge. Otherwise it runs a volatility‑balanced tech/bonds mix.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample Sharpe 2.42 vs SPY 1.91 and Calmar 44.5 signal superior risk-adjusted growth; seeks big tech dips with hedges for steadier upside vs the S&P. Higher volatility and drawdowns possible in stress periods.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
