About
A very aggressive market-timing strategy that buys sharp rebounds in leveraged stock funds, but switches to defensive assets like gold, bonds, the dollar, or volatility when conditions look dangerous.
This strategy is an aggressive “buy the dip” system. It first checks whether the U.S. stock market is in a healthy long-term uptrend.
If yes, it looks for sharp recent selloffs in areas like big tech, semiconductors, biotech, and banks, then often buys their turbocharged funds if they start bouncing back.
If markets look overheated or are falling too hard, it shifts toward protection like volatility, gold, long Treasury bonds, and the U.S. dollar.
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers higher risk-adjusted upside than the S&P: Sharpe ~1.09 vs ~0.82, Calmar ~2.27, and ~78% annualized return vs ~9.7% for SPY. It pursues big gains with defensive hedges during market stress.
