About

A daily, rules‑based Bitcoin timer. Uses volatility signals (SVIX/VIXY) to decide risk‑on vs risk‑off, then trend rules to either own Bitcoin (GBTC), bet against it (BITI), or sit in T‑bills (BIL).
NutHow it works
Daily, it checks “fear” gauges: SVIX rises when market fear falls; VIXY rises when fear spikes. It compares short‑ vs long‑term strength (RSI = a simple speed gauge). If calm (SVIX stronger) and Bitcoin’s fund GBTC is in an uptrend, buy GBTC; else hold cash (BIL, T‑bills). If fear is rising (VIXY stronger), buy BITI (goes up when Bitcoin falls) only if its recent return is weaker than its long‑term; otherwise hold BIL.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: 4.66%/yr, 10.61% max drawdown, Sharpe 0.335, Calmar 0.439. S&P drawdowns ~18.76%. This volatility-timed Bitcoin strategy offers better downside control and competitive risk-adjusted returns.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
