About

When markets are calm, it “surfs” a single equity fund—often using 2x versions—by buying the one most oversold. When markets turn jumpy, it flips to a 3x Treasury bond trade, choosing long or short based on very recent weakness.
NutHow it works
Each day it asks: Are U.S. stocks calm? If yes, buy the single fund (SPY, QQQ, their 2x versions SSO/QLD, or SHY) with the lowest 20‑day RSI—i.e., the one most “beaten‑up,” aiming for a rebound. If no (too volatile), switch to 3x Treasury bond funds (TYD or TYO), picking the side that’s held up better over the last week.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ~36.8% annualized return vs SPY ~22.7%, Sharpe ~1.18, Calmar ~0.91. It switches to 3x bonds in volatility to capture risk-off opportunities, delivering higher potential upside in calm markets—though drawdowns can be larger.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
