About

A big, rule-based, daily-rebalanced, multi-asset strategy that tilts between leveraged equity bets, hedges, and bonds across many themes using momentum, trend, and drawdown signals to adapt to market regimes.
NutHow it works
On each trading day, the system scans a broad set of ETFs across stocks, bonds, commodities, currencies, and volatility. It computes simple, rule-based signals such as short-term momentum (RSI-like readings), price relative to moving averages, and recent returns. These signals drive nested decision blocks that group assets by theme (e.g., Tech Momentum, Oil & Energy, Bonds, Bear-Market Protections, Volatility). Within each group, the strategy selects top assets (top-N) and assigns weights, often with full exposure (100/100) to a theme or with partial weights to multiple themes. There is a baseline cash/equal component that acts as a buffer. The framework also includes hedges (UVXY, SVXY, SQQQ, VIX-related ETFs) for volatility and bear markets, and it uses a mix of leveraged ETFs (3x and 2x) for growth bets during strong trends. Signals used include moving-average checks, cumulative returns, and RSI-like thresholds (for example, high readings around 80 or low readings around 30). The holdings are rebalanced daily to reflect the current signals, with the total allocation summing to 100%. In short: it’s a big, rule-driven, theme-based chooser that allocates across equities, bonds, commodities, and volatility hedges to adapt to changing market regimes, aiming to ride trends while providing downside protection. Notes for a layperson: ticker symbols like QQQ or SPY are exchange-traded funds representing broad markets or sectors; UVXY is a volatility bet; UVXY/PSQ/SQQQ are volatility or bear-market hedges; SHV/BND/IEF/TLT are bond-based positions; DBC/GLD/OILK/NRGU are commodities or energy-related plays; many blocks use RSI-like concepts (momentum gauges) to decide when to tilt toward risk or hedges. The system’s depth means it can shift allocations across dozens of themes, always aiming to keep overall risk in check while pursuing upside in trending markets.
CheckmarkValue prop

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
