About

Rules‑based, trend‑following portfolio. Aggressive in uptrends (adds leveraged tech/semis), defensive in weak markets (low‑vol stocks, utilities, bonds, gold), with small crash hedges when declines deepen.
NutHow it works
It watches the S&P 500 (via SPY). If SPY is above its 200‑day average, it goes on offense: core U.S. stocks plus extra growth/semis/defense. A small sleeve always holds bonds and gold. If SPY weakens, it shifts to low‑volatility stocks and utilities. If SPY drops below its 100‑day average, it adds small crash hedges (inverse stock funds, leveraged Treasuries and gold). Rebalances when weights drift ~3%.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: rule-based trend strategy delivering higher risk-adjusted returns than the S&P 500 (OOS Sharpe ~2.40 vs 1.15; Calmar ~7.31; OOS return ~71%). Uses ballast and small crash hedges for upside with risk control.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
