This strategy splits money into 5 buckets and uses SPY (a stand-in for the U.S. stock market) as a traffic light. If the market looks healthy, it leans hard into aggressive growth areas like big tech, semiconductors, and defense stocks. If the market weakens, it shifts more into calmer holdings like low-volatility stocks, utilities, Treasury bonds, and gold. One bucket adds extra crash protection when the market falls below its medium-term trend.

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
