About

A daily, crash-aware plan that stays mostly in gold and cash, and only bets on a rebound by selecting two beaten-down levered equity bets when volatility/momentum signals hint at a bottom, with a 66/34 weight split and 1.5x exposure, plus an always-on gold hedge.
NutHow it works
The system mostly holds gold (GLD) and cash to stay safe. It watches volatility and momentum signals (UVXY, SPXS, RSI and moving-average momentum) to detect whether a crash could be coming. If signals suggest danger but not an all-clear crash, it stays in gold/cash. If the signals indicate a potential bottom after a crash, it opens a contrarian position by selecting two beaten-up but possibly rebound-ready bets from two groups of levered tech/semis or broad-tech ETFs, assigning most weight to one and the rest to the other (about 66%/34%), at 1.5x exposure. It rebalances daily, keeps risk in check with cash, and uses gold as a stabilizer during waiting periods.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this crash-aware strategy beats the S&P 500 on risk-adjusted gains: Sharpe ~4.18 vs ~1.39, Calmar ~15.9, and ~160% OOS annualized return, with a gold hedge and cash buffer for downside protection.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
