About

Wait in gold. Use UVXY’s short‑term “fear” reading to spot crashes. When fear ramps, hedge with SPXS or UVXY; when panic looks spent and Nasdaq is oversold, bottom‑fish the two most beaten‑down market/tech funds. Daily, rules‑based.
NutHow it works
UVXY is a volatility fund that jumps in panics. We watch a 0–100 “heat score” on UVXY (counts recent up vs down days; high = fear surging, low = calm). If calm, we sit in gold (GLD). If fear is surging, we hedge with SPXS (rises when the S&P 500 falls) or UVXY, depending on how fast UVXY just jumped. If fear looks maxed out and the Nasdaq (QQQ) is washed out, we buy the two most beaten‑down market/tech funds (and their 3× versions). Rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers superior risk-adjusted returns vs the S&P: Sharpe 4.18, Calmar 15.9, alpha 0.96, beta 0.26, and roughly 161% annualized upside, with hedges (SPXS/UVXY) and opportunistic bottom-fishing.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
