About
A global stock strategy that each day buys the 5 worst-performing developed-country markets over the past 200 trading days, splitting money evenly among them.
This strategy looks across 22 stock-market funds from the U.S. and other developed countries, like Canada, Japan, the U.K., and Australia.
Every day, it checks which 5 have done the worst over the last 200 trading days (about 10 months), then puts equal money into those 5.
So despite the word “momentum” in the name, it is really buying the recent laggards and betting they may bounce back.
Contrarian developed-markets strategy: daily, buy the 5 laggards among 22 developed ETFs and rebalance. Out-of-sample Sharpe ~1.01, Calmar ~1.12, max drawdown ~14%, annualized return ~15.6%—risk-adjusted performance compares favorably to SPY.
