About

A daily, rules‑based strategy that rides tech uptrends with leveraged ETFs and quickly shifts to cash, defensives, or hedges when markets look overheated or risky. Uses simple gauges (trend, RSI, volatility) to buy dips, trim rips, and defend in selloffs.
NutHow it works
- First, it checks the market’s health: is the S&P 500 (SPY) above its 200‑day average? Are fear gauges (VIX) rising? Did big tech just surge or plunge? - If healthy/calm: it rides leaders (mostly tech and semiconductors) using leveraged ETFs like TQQQ, SOXL, TECL, UPRO, and sometimes SVXY. It sizes them so the calmer ones get more weight. - If prices look overheated (RSI high) or volatility spikes: it quickly cuts risk and shifts to cash‑like T‑bills (BIL/SHV), defensive funds (staples/utilities/healthcare, BTAL, US dollar, gold), or even flips to inverse funds (SQQQ, SOXS, TECS) or volatility hedges (UVXY/VIXM). - If prices look washed‑out (RSI low): it buys the dip in those same growth ETFs. - In deeper or fast selloffs, special “Black Swan” rules move it into safety mixes and/or short/volatility funds. It rebalances every day.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~137% annualized return vs ~27% SPY; Sharpe ~2.41 vs ~2.23; Calmar ~9.36; drawdown ~14.6% vs ~5.1%. A regime-aware tech/semis tilt that pursues upside while actively managing risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
