About
A daily, rules-based “seatbelt” for a tech-heavy portfolio: buy dips in high-beta ETFs when trends are healthy, and quickly hedge or flip short when markets overheat or volatility spikes, using VIX funds, bonds, gold, BTAL, and KMLM for defense.
Each day it checks two things: trend and heat. Trend: is the market above its long-term average? Heat: are prices “hot” or “cold” based on recent moves.
- If healthy/cool: buy dips in tech/semis (TQQQ/TECL/SOXL).
- If overheated or fear jumps: hedge or move to VIX funds, cash, bonds, gold, BTAL, or KMLM.
- If trends break: use inverse funds (SQQQ/TECS/SOXS).
Robust out-of-sample, rules-based system that buys tech dips and hedges spikes with VIX, bonds, gold, BTAL, and KMLM. Aims to outperform the S&P 500 on a risk-adjusted basis by reducing drawdowns and capturing upside.
