About

A simple 90/10 plan: 90% in VOO (the 500 biggest U.S. companies) and 10% in VGSH (short‑term U.S. Treasury bonds), rebalanced once a year. Buffett’s minimalist recipe for long‑term growth with a small safety cushion.
NutHow it works
Put 90% in VOO, a fund that owns shares of the 500 biggest U.S. companies (Apple, Microsoft, Google, Tesla, etc.). Put 10% in VGSH, a fund that holds short‑term U.S. government bonds. Once a year, move money to get back to 90/10. Stocks aim for growth; the bond slice adds a small safety cushion.
CheckmarkValue prop
90/10 plan: S&P-like growth with less risk. Out-of-sample Sharpe ~0.86 vs ~0.82, drawdown ≈20% vs 22%, and positive alpha—delivering steadier, long-term gains vs the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
