About

All-Weather-style portfolio using five ETFs (VTI, TLT, IEF, DBC, GLD) with yearly rebalancing to balance risk across stocks, bonds, commodities, and gold for varied economic conditions.
NutHow it works
What you’re buying is a single portfolio that spreads money across five asset areas to keep risk steady across economic conditions. Each part is represented by an ETF: - VTI: broad U.S. stock market for growth - TLT: long-term U.S. government bonds for ballast when stocks fall - IEF: shorter-term bonds for stability and income - DBC: futures-based commodity exposure for inflation protection and diversification - GLD: gold as a crisis hedge and store of value The weights (30% VTI, 40% TLT, 15% IEF, 7.5% DBC, 7.5% GLD) are target shares of the total portfolio, chosen to balance risk across assets rather than chase high returns. The portfolio is rebalanced once per year to restore these targets as markets drift. This approach aims to perform more smoothly across different economic environments, though it’s not risk-free and relies on the ETF structures and market conditions staying favorable.
CheckmarkValue prop
All-weather diversification across stocks, bonds, commodities and gold offers steadier, lower-risk performance with downside protection and smaller drawdowns versus the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
