About

Daily trend-and-momentum plan: if SPY is above its 200‑day average, hold the stronger of SSO (2× S&P 500) or QLD (2× Nasdaq‑100) by last‑30‑day returns; otherwise hold 60% VTI (stocks) and 40% BND (bonds).
NutHow it works
Each day the strategy checks if SPY (tracks the S&P 500) is above its 200‑day average price (the average of the last ~10 months). If yes: go risk‑on and buy one 2× fund—SSO (2× S&P 500) or QLD (2× Nasdaq‑100, big tech)—whichever had the higher return over the last 30 days. If no: hold 60% VTI (total U.S. stocks) and 40% BND (U.S. bonds). Rebalances daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
OOS shows 38.8% annual return vs 21.8% for SPY, with Calmar 1.33. It uses 2x leverage in uptrends and a 60/40 core in pullbacks, offering bigger upside, but higher drawdowns vs the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
