A fast-moving strategy that aggressively buys US stock funds when conditions look good, hides in Treasury-bill funds when risk rises, and sometimes bets against overheated tech markets.

This strategy checks whether the U.S. stock market looks calm, stressed, overheated, or beaten down. In good conditions, it buys aggressive stock funds tied to the S&P 500, Nasdaq, tech, or semiconductors. If markets look risky, it moves into short-term Treasury-bill funds like BIL or BOXX. In some extreme cases, it even bets against hot tech/semiconductor markets using bearish funds.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
