A symphony is an automated trading strategy — Learn more about symphonies here

About

A daily, rules-based switchboard that flips between “risk-on” and “risk-off.” It buys the strongest equity indexes in uptrends and, when conditions worsen, rotates into whichever defensive assets (cash, Treasuries, gold, USD, commodities, utilities, volatility) are working.
NutHow it works
Each day it asks simple questions: Are stocks trending up? Are “canaries” like Tech vs Utilities and Lumber vs Gold healthy? Are bonds beating T‑bills? Is volatility spiking? If risk-on: buy the 2 strongest stock index ETFs (often 3x S&P/Nasdaq/Dow). If risk-off: rotate into 3–4 leaders among T‑bills, Treasuries (long or short), gold, USD, commodities, utilities, or volatility. A side-module picks top mega-cap stocks in calm times.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample annualized return ~32.8% vs 22.2% for the S&P, with Calmar ~1.18. A rules-based risk-on/risk-off rotation targets bigger upside while managing risk—though drawdowns can be larger than the S&P in downturns.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
