About

Quarterly “risk‑on/off” plan. If bonds beat cash, buy 4 oversold leveraged growth funds. If not, either short/defensive plus long USD when rates rise, or staples/healthcare/treasuries/gold when rates fall. High volatility.
NutHow it works
Each quarter it asks: Are broad bonds (BND) beating cash‑like T‑bills (BIL) over ~3 months? If yes, buy 4 of 6 leveraged growth funds (tech/semis/market/bonds) that look most “oversold” by a 0–100 heat meter (RSI: low=cold, high=hot). If not, check long bonds (TLT) vs cash: if weak, hold 3 short/defensive picks plus 40% long U.S. dollar (USDU); if firm, rotate among staples, healthcare, Treasuries, and gold and keep some cash. Uses leveraged funds—very volatile.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ~47.9% annualized return vs ~22.4% for the S&P, with Calmar ~1.01 and Sharpe ~1.13. Strong risk-adjusted upside across regimes, but expect larger drawdowns than the S&P during stress.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
