This strategy checks the market every day. In strong markets, it mainly buys high-powered funds tied to big U.S. tech and stock indexes, especially the Nasdaq. If the market looks overheated, falling, or panic is rising, it shifts part of the money into hedges like volatility funds, short-term Treasury funds, long Treasury bonds, the U.S. dollar, gold, and defensive sectors like health care and consumer staples.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
