About

A daily switcher that buys 3x Nasdaq (TQQQ) on “cold” markets or when defensives/bonds signal capitulation, flips to volatility (UVXY) when Nasdaq looks too “hot,” and otherwise parks in a beaten‑down defensive fund (XLP or VBF).
NutHow it works
What it trades: QQQ=big US tech‑heavy index fund; TQQQ=3x QQQ; UVXY=2x short‑term volatility; XLU=Utilities sector; XLP=Consumer Staples; IGIB=investment‑grade corporate bonds; VBF=bond fund. Daily: If QQQ’s 10‑day RSI (a 0–100 “heat” score of recent ups vs downs) >80, buy UVXY (bet on a pullback). Else if RSI <30, buy TQQQ (buy the dip). Else if Utilities −10% in ~70d or Staples −8% in ~75d, buy TQQQ. Else if bonds are unusually strong, buy TQQQ. If none of that, hold the more sold‑off of XLP or VBF (by lowest RSI).
CheckmarkValue prop
Risk-adjusted edge: OOS Calmar 2.31, beta 0.14, max drawdown ~5.11%, and ~11.8% OOS annualized return. This tactical mix—levered Nasdaq exposure, volatility hedges, and defensives—offers diversification and steadier growth vs the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
