About

A rules-based ETF mix: ride uptrends with a diversified core, buy rare tech dips with 2x funds, hedge overheated markets with VIX ETFs, and retreat to T‑Bills when trends break. Uses SPY trend and QQQ “heat” (RSI) to decide.
NutHow it works
ETF rotation using two cues: - Trend: SPY vs its 200/30‑day averages (uptrend or breakdown). - Heat: RSI (0–100) on QQQ/VIXY shows “hot” vs “washed out.” Hot QQQ (RSI>79) → hedge with VIXY/UVXY (sometimes plus BIL). Uptrend → core (GDE+NTSX or GLD/VOO/IXUS); if washed out (RSI<30) → brief 2x tech bet (QLD/ROM). Weak trend → core or T‑Bills (BIL). Tickers: SPY/VOO=S&P; QQQ=big tech; GLD=gold; IXUS=int’l; GDE,NTSX=stock+bond; VIXY/UVXY=vol; QLD/ROM=2x; BIL=T‑Bills.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample this strategy delivers dramatically higher risk-adjusted returns than SPY: Sharpe ~5.0 vs ~1.76, annualized return ~104% vs ~17.6%, Calmar ~28.9, and modest drawdowns (~3.6% vs 2.6%).

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
