About

Rules‑based, multi‑asset mix that seeks growth in expansions (mainly S&P 500, tech, and foreign stocks) and plays defense in contractions using cash, staples, bonds, gold, and managed‑futures. Trend and volatility signals drive when it shifts.
NutHow it works
Five sleeves: US core (NTSX = US stocks + Treasury futures), Tech (XLK), International (VEA), a rules‑based Homebase, and a 10% Managed‑Futures sleeve (funds like DBMF/KMLM/CTA that go long/short futures). It owns stocks when trends are up (moving‑average checks). When fear (VIXM) spikes or trends weaken, it shifts to T‑Bills (BIL), Staples (XLP), TIPS (TIP), Gold (IAU), or Managed‑Futures. Brief use of SSO/TQQQ in strong uptrends or on oversold dips. RSI = short‑term “heat” gauge.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: 27.54% vs 22.84%, Sharpe 1.88 vs 1.43, max DD 12.17% vs 18.76%, Calmar 2.26. Diversified, rules-based, trend-driven strategy seeking higher growth with better risk control than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
