A fast-moving strategy that usually bets aggressively on U.S. tech and semiconductor stocks, but switches into volatility, bonds, gold, or defensive assets when markets look weak, overheated, or panicky.

This strategy checks the market every day and asks: is the market in a healthy long-term trend, or a weak one? Most of the time it makes aggressive bets on U.S. stocks—especially technology and chip stocks—using extra-volatile funds like SOXL and UPRO. If markets look overheated, it may briefly move into “fear” funds that rise when volatility jumps. In weaker markets, it keeps a small permanent safety cushion in cash-like bonds, gold, and Treasury bonds.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
