About

Rules‑based, trend/momentum and volatility‑aware portfolio. It leans into tech/growth in uptrends (sometimes with leveraged ETFs), adds VIX hedges when markets overheat, and shifts to cash/defensive, bond trades, or inverse funds in stress. Includes small commodity sleeves.
NutHow it works
First it checks if the S&P 500 is in an uptrend (price above a long‑term average). In uptrends it owns rising tech/growth funds (SPY/QQQ and 3x versions) and trims risk if gains look “too hot” (RSI: a 0–100 score of how stretched a move is). If trends weaken, it pivots to T‑Bills (BIL), market‑neutral BTAL, bond trades (TMF/TMV), or volatility hedges (UVXY/VIXY). Small sleeves trend‑follow oil/commodities (DBO/DBC) and defensives (XLP). Changes are signal‑driven, not on a fixed date.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers superior risk-adjusted performance vs the S&P 500: Sharpe 1.62 vs 1.20, Calmar 1.60, and max drawdown 8.1% vs 18.8%. It rides uptrends and hedges in stress for smoother, more durable growth.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
