This strategy splits money into two halves. One half follows a simple rule set based on the S&P 500’s recent move and trend. The other half does the same in calm markets, but switches to a more defensive ‘crash mode’ when market fear rises. In good conditions it leans hard into TQQQ, a fund that aims to deliver 3x the daily move of the Nasdaq-100. In rough conditions it may move to safer bond/cash funds, lower-volatility stocks, or even bearish/volatility funds designed to profit from market drops.
