About

A monthly, rules-based plan with a crash stop. If the market drops fast, park in short‑term Treasuries. If the trend is up, hold the four strongest big U.S. stocks (~75% invested). If not, rotate into the three strongest defensive/sector funds.
NutHow it works
Each month: 1) If the S&P 500 fund (SPY) fell more than ~4% over the last month, move 100% into short‑term U.S. Treasuries (SCHO) for safety. 2) Else, if SPY’s short‑term price trend is stronger than its medium‑term trend (15‑day avg > 60‑day), put about 75% into the four best‑performing big U.S. stocks from a preset list (Apple, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Amazon, Alphabet, etc.); keep ~25% in cash. 3) Otherwise, split money equally across the three strongest funds among: XLU (Utilities), XLC (Communication Services), SCHZ (Core U.S. bonds), XME (Metals & Mining), XOP (Oil & Gas).
CheckmarkValue prop
Disciplined, risk-controlled strategy: crash-stop to Treasuries, trend rotation, and regular rebalancing. Out-of-sample Sharpe ~0.18 and Calmar ~0.37 signal modest risk-adjusted returns, with downside protection and diversification versus the S&P in stressed markets.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
