About
A tactical switch: buy SVXY (short volatility) only when KMLM is surging or dipping and semiconductors look stronger but not overheated; otherwise sit in BIL (T‑Bills). Signals use 10‑day RSI and 10/20‑day returns. High risk when in SVXY.
It holds either SVXY or BIL. First it looks at KMLM (a trend‑following fund) for a recent surge (>5% in 20 days) or dip (<−2% in 10 days). If either occurs, it checks momentum via a 10‑day RSI (0–100 score): semis (SMH) must beat KMLM and SOXL’s RSI must be <80. If all pass → buy SVXY (wins when volatility falls); else → BIL (T‑Bills).
Out-of-sample, the strategy lowers risk: ~9.2% annual return with ~8.3% max drawdown (Calmar ~1.11), versus SPY’s ~18.6% return and ~18.8% drawdown. A low-beta (~0.20) profile adds diversification and steadier risk-adjusted gains.
