About
A daily market-timing strategy that splits money across 15 variants. It uses leveraged U.S. stocks when conditions look calm, short-term Treasuries when they don’t, and long-term Treasuries when stock-market volatility gets too high.
Each day, the strategy runs 15 small tests and averages them.
Every test first asks: has the U.S. stock market (SPY) been calm or jumpy lately? If it has been too jumpy, that piece moves to long-term Treasury bonds (TLT).
If stocks have been calm, it compares a recent-strength score for stocks (SPY) versus short-term Treasury bonds (SHY). Depending on that comparison, it buys either UPRO (a 3x turbo-charged S&P 500 fund) or SHY (short-term government bonds).
Out-of-sample: ~32.8% annualized return vs SPY ~20.9%, with Calmar ~0.86 and Sharpe ~1.17. Larger drawdowns (~38% vs ~19%). Daily tilts among UPRO/SHY/TLT aim to capture trends while diversifying risk.
