A symphony is an automated trading strategy — Learn more about symphonies here

About

Daily, it cautiously rotates among 2x S&P 500 (SSO), short‑term Treasuries (SHY), and long‑term Treasuries (TLT). It buys 2x stocks only when markets are calm and stocks look oversold vs bonds; otherwise it hides in SHY or TLT. Uses 15 lookback tests.
NutHow it works
Each day it chooses among: SSO (2x S&P 500), SHY (short‑term Treasuries), TLT (long‑term Treasuries). First it checks if the S&P 500’s recent moves are calm across several windows. If not (jumpy), hold TLT. If calm, it compares a simple up‑vs‑down score (RSI: lower = more oversold) for SPY vs SHY. If SPY looks more oversold, buy SSO; otherwise sit in SHY. It blends 15 lookbacks to smooth timing.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~28.3% annual return vs ~22.2% S&P; Sharpe ~1.43 vs ~1.40; beta ~0.97; Calmar ~1.02. In calm markets it uses 2x SSO; in volatility it hedges with Treasuries—stronger risk-adjusted growth.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
