About

A cautious barbell: 25% flips between cash-like T-bills and a 2x S&P 500 fund only in quiet, buy-the-dip moments; 75% sits in insurance stocks and silver. Goal: small bursts of equity risk with defensive ballast.
NutHow it works
- 25% tactical sleeve: It watches the S&P 500. If daily swings are small and stocks’ short-term strength score (0–100 gauge of recent up vs down days) is weaker than short Treasuries, it buys a 2x S&P fund (SSO); otherwise it sits in T-bills (SGOV). It spreads this across 15 short windows (14–42 days; calm = ~1–2% swings). - The other 75% stays fixed: 25% silver (SIVR), 25% U.S. insurance ETF (IAK), 12.5% Progressive (PGR), 12.5% Arthur J. Gallagher (AJG).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers higher risk-adjusted gains vs the S&P 500: annualized return ~34.9% vs ~22.8%, Sharpe ~1.87 vs ~1.14, max drawdown ~10.9% vs ~14.7%, Calmar ~3.19, beta ~0.52. Defensive core with selective upside.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
