VIXM is a fear gauge. - If fear spikes, it either: buys the Nasdaq (TQQQ) if risk signs look okay or a dip looks washed out, or hides in a hedge (SQQQ) or a defensive fund (BTAL). - If markets are calmer, it prefers TQQQ when volatility is low or bonds look healthy. If defense looks stronger, it moves to BTAL or short-term T‑bills (BIL).
