About

A daily, rules-based trader that rides the Nasdaq in calm/risk-on periods (via TQQQ), but during fear spikes flips to a hedge (SQQQ), a defensive long/short fund (BTAL), or cash-like T‑bills (BIL), using simple “heat” and trend checks to decide.
NutHow it works
It’s a rules-based switcher around the Nasdaq. Think of RSI as a 0–100 “heat gauge” of recent price moves (high=hot, low=sold off). VIXM is a fear gauge. - If fear spikes, it either: buys the Nasdaq (TQQQ) if risk signs look okay or a dip looks washed out, or hides in a hedge (SQQQ) or a defensive fund (BTAL). - If markets are calmer, it prefers TQQQ when volatility is low or bonds look healthy. If defense looks stronger, it moves to BTAL or short-term T‑bills (BIL).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this Nasdaq regime-switching strategy beats the S&P on risk-adjusted return and drawdown: Sharpe 1.62 vs 1.15, annualized return 60.7% vs 19.4%, max drawdown 16.7% vs 18.8%, Calmar 3.63.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
