About
A high-risk market-timing strategy that switches between 3x leveraged Nasdaq exposure and Treasury bills based on market fear, volatility, and risk-on/risk-off signals.
This strategy mostly asks one question each day: “Is it safe to be aggressive?”
If conditions look calm, it buys TQQQ, a fund that aims to deliver 3x the daily move of the Nasdaq-100 (big tech-heavy stocks like Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Amazon).
If conditions look stressed, it moves to BIL, a very short-term Treasury-bill fund that acts like a cash parking spot. It judges “stress” using market fear, defensive sectors, junk bonds, and gold.
Out-of-sample: ~27.2% annualized return vs SPY’s ~18.2%, by tactically leveraging Nasdaq in calm markets and moving to cash during stress. Strong growth potential with risk-managed timing; drawdowns can be large in turmoil.
