This strategy checks the market every day and asks: is the U.S. stock market healthy, weak, overheated, or panicking? It uses SPY (the S&P 500) and QQQ (big tech stocks) as its main “thermometers.” If conditions look strong, it leans into aggressive stock funds or leading big stocks. If conditions look dangerous, it shifts into hedges like volatility funds, defensive stock funds, Treasury/bond funds, cash-like T-bills, gold, or the U.S. dollar. It can also bet against the market during bad periods using inverse funds. In short: it constantly rotates into what looks strongest and away from what looks riskiest.

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
