A symphony is an automated trading strategy — Learn more about symphonies here

About

A rules-based, monthly strategy focused on future-growth themes. For each theme, if the long-term trend is up, it buys 2–3 of the strongest stocks; if not, it shifts to T‑bills and inverse hedges. Heavy exposure to AI, semis, cyber, biotech, and nuclear.
NutHow it works
Your money is split into 8 “theme” buckets (AI, semis, cybersecurity, biotech, nuclear, fintech, quantum/Big Tech, space/defense). Each month, for each theme it: 1) Checks trend: is the 50‑day average price above the 200‑day average? If yes, that theme is “on.” 2) If on: buys 2–3 names from a preset list that are strongest by recent gains (RSI, a 0–100 strength score) or biggest recent moves (20‑day volatility). 3) If off: parks in T‑bills (BIL) and sometimes hedges that rise when tech/biotech fall (SQQQ, SARK, BIS), sizing more into the steadier option. ETFs used as “weather vanes”: SMH (semis), AIQ (AI), QTUM (AI/quantum), ARKF (fintech), CIBR (cyber), IBB (biotech), NLR (nuclear).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~35% annualized return with Sharpe ~1.17 vs S&P: ~15% return and Sharpe ~0.80. A rules-based, theme-driven strategy that goes risk-on in uptrends and hedges to cash during drawdowns, delivering superior risk-adjusted growth.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
