A very aggressive market-timing strategy that swings between leveraged tech, defensive dividend stocks, bonds, commodities, gold, and fear trades based on recent market behavior.

This strategy constantly asks: is the market calm or stressed, and is tech too hot or too cold? If tech has fallen fast, it often buys aggressive tech funds. If tech has risen too fast, it may bet against tech or buy “fear” funds. When the market looks defensive, it shifts into bonds, gold, commodities, and hedged stock funds. It also uses bond-market signals as a warning system before taking big stock bets.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
