About

Own Apple when it’s at/above $250; otherwise park in BIL (an ultra‑short T‑bill ETF). Checked daily. Seeks to sidestep sharp Apple sell‑offs, but can flip often near $250 and concentrates risk in one stock when invested.
NutHow it works
Each day, check Apple’s price. If AAPL is below $250, hold BIL—an ETF of very short‑term U.S. Treasury bills (a cash‑like, low‑risk parking spot). If AAPL is $250 or higher, hold AAPL. The portfolio is 100% in one or the other and updates daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Simple, rule-based: 100% in AAPL when price ≥ 250; otherwise 100% in BIL (cash-like Treasuries). Out-of-sample drawdown ~5% vs SPY ~19%; Calmar ~1.72. Lower downside, clearer path to growth than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
