About

Chases stock uptrends with 3x equity ETFs, but when signals cool it switches to a defensive “Safety Town” mix of volatility and market‑neutral hedges. A bond/dollar filter can shift it to 3x Treasuries or the US dollar when safer assets look better.
NutHow it works
It’s a rules-based switch. Think of RSI as a quick “heat gauge” (0–100) of recent up/down moves; higher = stronger/possibly hot. If stocks (SPY) look stronger than utilities and long Treasuries are weak, it tries to ride rallies with 3x stock funds: TECL (tech), TQQQ (Nasdaq-100), SPXL/UPRO (S&P 500), or UDOW (Dow). If that short-term heat looks worse than bonds (AGG), it goes to “Safety Town,” a mix of SVXY (benefits from calm), VIXM/UVXY (benefit from fear), and BTAL (market‑neutral hedge). If Treasuries aren’t weak, it may hold TMF (3x Treasuries) or UUP (US dollar), whichever its rules prefer. No fixed rebalancing; it shifts when signals change.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy aims for higher growth than the S&P 500: about 38% annualized vs 22% for SPY, via a rules-based risk-on/risk-off approach that rides leveraged rallies and switches to hedges when signals weaken, offering strong upside with adaptive risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
