About

A high-risk, signal-driven strategy that aims to ride BTC/miner and FAANG+Small Cap rallies by ranking top performers and allocating to the best two, while using volatility hedges (UVXY) if risk signals rise. It blends crypto, tech, leveraged ETFs, and broad market assets with no fixed calendar rebalancing.
NutHow it works
How it works in plain language: - The strategy watches a broad mix of assets, including crypto-related stocks/ETFs and big-tech names, to spot a broad rally in BTC/FAANGT and small caps. It uses short-term performance (moving-average-return) to rank candidates and then buys the top one or two assets, allocating cash equally between them. This is the core long-bias part called the BTC/FAANG+Small Caps rally group. - Before actually buying, it runs a set of risk checks that look at market volatility and breadth signals. If the market looks stressed (high RSI readings on a volatility proxy idea like QQQE, or specific risk-linked checks), the strategy shifts into a volatility hedge (UVXY) or other defensive plays (like VTV, VOX, etc.). The code shows UVXY being considered whenever a short-term RSI signal on a tech proxy is above a threshold (roughly “volatility ahead” condition). - If the risk checks do not trigger hedges, the system proceeds to the top-two asset selection from the BTC/miners/crypto ETFs and big-tech/small-cap pool. Those top assets are the ones that have shown the strongest short-term performance (according to moving averages over a short window, often 3 days). The allocation is typically 100% cash split evenly between the two assets (i.e., 50% each), though some branches show 100% to the single top asset where the filter selects only one winner. - The universe for selection includes a mix of growth tech (AAPL, MSFT, GOOGL, AMZN, NFLX, META, TSLA), crypto exposure (COIN, RIOT, MARA, MSTR), crypto ETFs (BITQ, BITS, BITO, BITX, BITI in some branches), crypto miners (CLSK, CIFR, CORZ, HOOD, WGMI), broad market proxies (SPY, UWM, DPST, LABU), and leveraged alternatives (UPRO, TQQQ, TECL, etc.). This creates a high-octane, high-risk basket. - Rebalancing occurs only when the signal re-emerges; there is no fixed schedule. If a risk signal returns (or a maximum drawdown condition is met for a Bitcoin-short ETF), the path may shift toward hedges rather than chasing a new rally signal. - The overall aim is to ride a rally in BTC/miners and FAANG+small caps while maintaining a guardrail through volatility hedges and sector/risk filters, with a strong emphasis on short-term performance ranking to pick the two assets to own when a signal fires. - Important caveats: the strategy uses a high concentration of leveraged and crypto-related instruments, which can amplify both gains and losses. It is not suitable for beginners and requires tolerance for drawdowns and complex risk management. It also relies on backtested signals that may perform differently in live markets. It has no fixed rebalancing cadence, so disciplined execution and monitoring are essential. In short: this is a signal-driven, high-risk, multi-asset plan that tries to ride a BTC/FAANG+Small Caps rally using short-term performance ranking, while dampening risk with volatility hedges when the market looks stressed, and it relies on a broad mix of crypto/tech assets and leverage ETFs rather than a simple, single-indicator rule.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: Sharpe ~1.24 and Calmar ~1.98, aiming for ~114% annual upside vs SPY. Dynamic BTC/miners/FAANG rallies with hedges offer higher growth potential, guided by risk checks and no fixed rebalancing.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
