About

A high‑octane, rules‑driven portfolio that rides semiconductor‑led rallies with 3× ETFs, cuts risk or shorts when markets look overheated, and layers on crash protection. It rotates among SOXL/SOXS, TQQQ/SPXL, cash‑like T‑bills, and volatility hedges (UVXY/VIXM/UUP).
NutHow it works
It’s a rule‑based switch. It watches the S&P 500 (SPY), Nasdaq (QQQ) and, especially, semiconductors (SMH). If trend is up and chips dip (a short‑term “washed‑out” reading), it buys 3× longs (SOXL/TQQQ/SPXL). If chips spike or trend weakens/volatility jumps (UVXY), it flips to 3× shorts (SOXS/SQQQ/SPXU) or cash‑like T‑bills (BIL/SHY/BSV) and adds UVXY/VIXM/UUP hedges.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ~42.7% annual return vs ~23.4% for the S&P, with a similar Sharpe (~1.36) and beta ~0.71. Higher upside, built-in hedges, and disciplined risk controls—though drawdowns can be larger in stress.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
