About

A 3‑sleeve tactical mix that compares bond strength to “short‑the‑market” funds to flip between offense and defense. Offense: SPY/QQQ/Tech; defense: Staples, cash‑like T‑bills, or a short S&P fund. Uses trend (200‑day) and oversold (RSI) signals.
NutHow it works
The portfolio is split into 3 equal sleeves. Each asks: are bond funds (BND, IEI, TLT) showing stronger recent gains than inverse stock funds (SH, PSQ, which rise when stocks fall)? If yes, go risk-on: buy SPY, QQQ, or Tech (XLK), favoring uptrends (SPY above its 200‑day average) or oversold bounces (RSI is a 0–100 gauge of recent up vs down; low=oversold). If not, go defensive: Staples (XLP), cash‑like T‑bills (SHV), or short S&P (SH).
CheckmarkValue prop
Three-sleeve, bond-led trend strategy that tilts to stocks in uptrends and to staples/cash/shorts in risk-off. OOS drawdown 17.9% vs 18.8% for the S&P; Calmar ~1.06; ~19% OOS return vs ~23.4% - better risk control with growth potential.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
