A rule-based strategy that switches between U.S. stocks, Treasury bonds, defensive funds, and occasional tech rebound trades based on whether stocks or bonds look stronger and whether either has become too stretched.

This strategy watches two big forces: the stock market and U.S. Treasury bonds. It uses long-term trend checks to decide whether bonds look healthy, then compares how stocks are doing versus bonds. If stocks look strong but overheated, it often shifts into Treasury bonds for safety. If stocks are weak, it may move into safer bonds, defensive stock funds, or occasionally make a short-term bet on a rebound in technology shares.

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
