About

A rules-based, tech-focused switch that rotates between QQQ/tech, defensive staples, or bearish/market‑neutral ETFs using simple trend, momentum, and drawdown checks—aiming to avoid long slumps and press rebounds.
NutHow it works
It puts 100% into one fund at a time. First, it checks if long U.S. Treasuries look stronger than a bearish Nasdaq fund; if so, it buys QQQ (big tech). Otherwise it follows trend/oversold rules to choose: tech (QQQ/XLK), defensive staples (XLP), a hedge against tech (PSQ or SQQQ), or a defensive long/short (BTAL). It sometimes uses 2x/3x tech funds (QLD/TECL) in rebounds. Bonds (TLT, IEF, BND, AGG) and moving averages act as “thermometers.”
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: 22.1% annualized return vs 19.8% for SPY, lower drawdown (16.4% vs 18.8%), stronger risk profile (Calmar 1.34) and lower beta, with hedges protecting tech bets—upside with downside protection vs the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
